WEEKEND MOBILE FILMMAKING WORKSHOP

The Lone Star Film Festival, Blanc Cowork + Studio, are proud to bring back Bart Weiss' Mobile Filmmaking Workshop on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at Blanc co-work + studios in Fort Worth.

Bring your smartphone and join Bart Weiss for a hands-on workshop focused on all aspects of mobile filmmaking. Learn the pros and cons of mobile filmmaking, as well as the necessary techniques to be successful. Weiss will discuss the challenges and benefits of shooting via cell phone and will bring equipment for demonstrations on lighting and sound using your mobile phone camera. Whether you are a professional filmmaker, social media influencer, company, or brand ambassador, this workshop will refine your filmmaking skills while networking with fellow filmmakers in a creative and welcoming environment. All skill levels are encouraged to attend.


ABOUT BART WEISS

Bart Weiss is an award-winning independent film and video producer, director, editor, and educator who has lived in Dallas since 1981. He is mostly known as the director and founder of the Dallas VideoFest. He produces the TV show “Frame of Mind” on KERA TV in Dallas and is the Artistic Director of 3 Stars Cinema. He is a tenured professor at the University of Texas at Arlington. He is a former President of the Association of Independent Video and Filmmakers (AIVF), a former (and founding) board member of Dallas Artists Research and Exhibition (DARE), and past Vice President of the Texas Association of Film and Tape Professionals (TAFTP), and co-founder of the Dallas Video Festival and the Video Association of Dallas. He has been a video columnist for The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times Herald, and United Features Syndicate. Bart received an MFA in Film Directing from Columbia University.

Lone Star Film Festival As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, the Lone Star Film Society brings the world of cinema to Fort Worth each November through the presentation of the Lone Star Film Festival (LSFF).  This five-day celebration focuses on the art of independent film and the creatives behind the content.  LSFF also serves to showcase the City of Fort Worth as a potential production location, continually encouraging filmmakers to create and inspire within its borders. www.LoneStarFilmFestival.com
