Join the Team Behind the 2025 Lone Star Film Festival
 

FESTIVAL THEATER MANAGER
 

The Lone Star Film Society (a 501c3 nonprofit organization) is looking for two enthusiastic Festival Theater Managers to help bring the magic of film to life. As part of the festival team, you’ll work alongside our Festival Manager, Theater Projectionist, and volunteer box office crew to keep screenings running smoothly and ensure every guest feels welcome.


What We’re Looking For

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Ability to keep programs on schedule

  • A friendly, welcoming presence for guests, volunteers, and staff

  • Comfort navigating a phone-based box office app (training provided)

  • Reliability and a positive, can-do spirit (no prior experience required!)
     

Position Details


Position 1 – Modern Art Museum Auditorium

  • Dates: Thursday, October 30 – Tuesday, November 4, 2025, and Thursday, November 6, 2025 (7 days total, on-site)

  • Hours: Typically 9:00 am – 10:00 pm (varies by day)

  • Compensation: $1,000 flat rate (1099 independent contractor) + meals

 

Position 2 – Movie Tavern

  1. Dates: Monday, November 3 – Wednesday, November 5, 2025 (3 days total, on-site)

  2. Hours: 4:30 pm – 9:30 pm

  3. Compensation: $300 flat rate (1099 independent contractor) + meals

TICKETING VOLUNTEERS


The Lone Star Film Society (a 501c3 nonprofit organization) is seeking enthusiastic Ticketing Volunteers to help make the 2025 Lone Star Film Festival a success! As part of the festival team, you’ll welcome guests, assist with box office operations, and ensure screenings run smoothly. This is a great way to be part of the behind-the-scenes energy of one of Texas’s premier film events.
 

What We’re Looking For

  1. Strong communication and people skills

  2. A friendly, welcoming presence for festival guests, volunteers, and staff

  3. Comfort using a phone-based box office app (training provided)

  4. Reliability, teamwork, and a positive, can-do spirit (no prior experience required!)

 

Position Details
 

  • Shifts are 4 hours each

  • Volunteers are asked to complete at least two shifts

  • In exchange, volunteers receive an All-Access Festival Pass and an official Festival T-shirt

  • Dates: Thursday, October 30 – Thursday, November 6, 2025

  • Hours: A variety of shifts are available to fit your schedule

  • Compensation: This is an unpaid volunteer role

Provides film education programs for adults and high-school-age students interested in the art of cinema.
