About the event
Join us for cocktails, conversation, and a private celebration two decades in the making.
We are delighted to welcome you to an intimate cocktail reception at the Sid Richardson Museum in Fort Worth, where great art and great cinema have more in common than you might expect. This evening is a chance to celebrate the people who make the Lone Star Film Society possible and to share some very exciting news.
Our 20th Anniversary Film Festival
Be among the first to hear our landmark announcements as we unveil the vision for our milestone festival — a celebration of twenty years championing independent and world cinema in Texas.
Thank You, Sid Richardson Foundation
This evening is also an opportunity to honor the generous and transformative support of the Sid Richardson Foundation, whose partnership has been essential to our growth and mission.
A Private Gallery Talk by Scott Winterrowd
Explore The Cinematic West: The Art That Made the Movies — an extraordinary exhibition tracing how the paintings of Remington, Russell, and others gave birth to the visual language of Hollywood's Western genre. Scott Winterrowd, museum director and curator for the exhibition, will lead an exclusive talk for our guests.
"Their depictions of the American West — its landscapes, characters, and mythology — directly shaped the visual storytelling of early Western films." The exhibition runs through April 20, 2026, and this private evening offers a rare window into the art that made the movies.
We will also share updates on our film education programs, which continue to grow thanks to the generosity of supporters like you. Your presence and your belief in the power of film mean everything to us.
