Review: Top Selections from the Lone Star Film Festival

The Lone Star Film Festival returned to Fort Worth this weekend with five days of near constant programming for attendees to enjoy. Here are some of my top selections from the festival.

Despite Hollywood fame, Bill Paxton never forgot Fort Worth roots

Bill Paxton, the Fort Worth native who went on to star in such movies as “Apollo 13,” “Titanic” and “Twister” and in TV projects such as HBO’s “Big Love” and the History miniseries “Texas Rising,” died Saturday of complications from heart surgery. He was 61.
