Update: Coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

The LSFF Summer Film Camp at TCU is scheduled for June 1 - 12, 2020. 
 
The promotion of this event is currently on hold.  Due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic, we will be determining whether the event will continue as planned by mid-April 2020.
If forced to cancel, a full refund will be made to registered students in May 2020.

Johnny Langdon Film Education Initiative

SESSION I objectives: knowledge and understanding of jobs on a film set, screenwriting, acting, directing, sound recording, editing, cinematography, film analysis, and film theory.

SESSION I 

June 1 - June 5

High School age students learn the ins and outs of filmmaking as they write, direct, act, produce and edit their very own short film.  SESSION I is open to all levels of experience.  This program introduces filmmaking to students that are interested in exploring film as a career or as an extended education option.

SESSION II objectives: jobs on a film set, screenwriting, breaking down a script, storyboarding, shot listing, casting and auditioning, scheduling, directing, sound recording, editing, cinematography, production design, and wardrobe.

SESSION II*

June 8 - June 12

SESSION II serves as second week for students to hone their skills at filmmaking as they take more ownership in creating a second self-produced short film.  This program is intended for students interested in building a portfolio and resume for college applications or for students who are interested in pursuing immediate job placement in the film industry upon completion of High School.

* REQUIREMENT: Completion of Session I or completion of the 2019 LSFF Film Camp

  • Located at TCU's Bob Schieffer College of Communication - Moudy South Building

  • 9 am - 3 pm daily (Mon - Fri)

  • Campers bring their own lunch

  • Campers are not permitted to leave campus at anytime

Johnny Langdon Film Education Initiative

Provides film education programs for adults as well as high-school-age students interested in the art of cinema. 

 

Programs have included weekend workshops in screenwriting, documentary filmmaking, film theory, and various film camp experiences for students looking to pursue a career in film.
